Access Statement

At Gritty Talent, we’re committed to being as inclusive and accessible as possible for everyone we work with including our team, clients, collaborators and creative talent.

We understand that access needs are broad and diverse and can include physical, sensory, emotional, intellectual, technological and financial considerations. Accessibility is an ongoing commitment, and we aim to make every part of our work welcoming, adaptable and inclusive.

1. Our Commitment

This Access Statement sits alongside our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy and forms part of our ongoing work to remove barriers and promote equal participation.

We regularly review our processes and welcome feedback from those who work with us. Our goal is to ensure that accessibility is inherently built into the way we communicate, recruit, and deliver our programmes

2. Communications

We are a fully remote team and do not have a fixed office space.

We communicate via email, telephone and Zoom, and we are happy to make adjustments to meet individual communication preferences.

  • Large-print or plain-text versions of documents are available upon request.

  • We use clear, plain language wherever possible.

  • We can provide audio or summary versions of key documents on request.

3. Digital Accessibility

Because we work primarily online, digital accessibility is a key focus.

We aim to make our website and online materials accessible to as many users as possible by following recognised Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) principles.

We:

  • Use consistent layouts and clear navigation.

  • Ensure strong colour contrast and readable fonts.

  • Add alternative text to images and descriptions for links and buttons.

  • Test materials for compatibility with screen readers and keyboard navigation.

If you experience any difficulty using our website or online platforms, please email team@grittytalent.tv so we can help or make adjustments.

4. Recruitment and Participation

We want our recruitment and participation processes to be inclusive and barrier-free.

  • Application forms can be provided in alternative formats on request.

  • Interviews and meetings can be conducted with reasonable adjustments (e.g. flexible timings, additional time, or use of preferred communication methods).

  • Applicants and participants are invited to share access needs confidentially in advance.

  • Feedback and outcome information can be provided in accessible formats.

We also review our recruitment materials to ensure language, tone and imagery are inclusive and representative of the communities we work with.

5. Online Events, Interviews and Remote Activities

For all our online sessions including interviews, events and workshops we:

  • Enable closed captions by default.

  • Offer a BSL interpreter or live transcript service on request.

  • Provide clear joining instructions, including how to use chat and non-verbal feedback tools.

  • Share resource links via email before or after each session.

  • Contact participants in advance to confirm access needs or preferred adjustments.

6. In-Person Events and Activities

Although Gritty Talent does not operate from a fixed office, we occasionally host in-person meetings, workshops or events.

For these we:

  • Choose venues with step-free access and accessible toilets where possible.

  • Share venue access information in advance (e.g. parking, step-free routes, quiet spaces).

  • Provide an access contact for anyone needing additional support or adjustments.

  • Offer reimbursement for additional accessibility-related costs (where appropriate).

7. Training and Learning Materials

When delivering training, workshops or Skills Bootcamps, we aim to make our materials and sessions as accessible as possible.

  • Slides and handouts use clear fonts, high-contrast visuals and plain language.

  • Materials can be shared in advance or afterwards in accessible formats.

  • Multimedia content includes captions or transcripts.

  • We avoid using colour alone to convey meaning.

We also welcome learner feedback to help us continuously improve our training design and delivery.

8. Feedback and Continuous Improvement

We know that accessibility is an ongoing process. We review our access measures regularly and use feedback from participants, clients and partners to make improvements.

If you’d like to share feedback, request an alternative format of this statement, or discuss specific access needs, please contact us at team@grittytalent.tv
